I grew up interior camping in Ontario’s beautiful Algonquin Park, slowly gliding through the pristine lakes in a canoe. This left me with a profound respect for nature - helping the planet is my way of giving back.

Knowing that every little bit counts and if I do my part - perhaps that will inspire others to do the same

I live in Alberta, one of the most beautiful places on earth. My daughter is my reason for doing my part to keep our environment healthy and full of life. We would all feel terrible if our children couldn't enjoy the mountains and oceans like we do.

I feel we all need to honour the beauty of our natural surroundings. We are a part of earth, and to honour the earth is to honour ourselves.

I make sure everyone where I live, in my condo complex, does their recycling and participates and remind them to put it out.

My kids and other children inspire me to help the planet. I want them to live on a beautiful, clean Earth. I try to do anything I can on a daily basis to save resources (reduce, reuse, recycle, turn off lights, bike to the store). Any effort, small or large, will help!

Though born and raised in cosmopolitan city in India, reduce and reuse was routine. Brought with awareness that water and electricity are scare and important resources of life. Sunlight was use to the extent that sometimes food was cook in solar cooker. I feel my brought up inspires me to carry on same legacy. Reduce, reuse and recycle is routine of my life too. My 3yrs daughter knows what goes in garbage and what goes in recycle. Though we stay in apartment where electricity and water is included in rent, but we make sure not to waste it. I open my windows for sunlight and fresh air whenever weather permits. I walk my daughter to school and never use car for short distances. May all this will one day will inspire my daughter too for greener life.

We should all do our part to make the environment safe for our kids, so I have switched to cleaning materials that are earth friendly and have no harsh chemicals as I do not want my kids exposed to all this. We also recycle all the time.

Hi from Rocky Kemble, outside of Owen Sound Ontario. We live on 10 acres beside a wildlife conservation area. That means we have cyotes, wolves, turkeys, deer, skunk and racoons sharing our living space. Since we moved in we consider ouselves the "visitors" on THEIR PROPERTY. On "Hearts Desire" we compost, recycle, re-give back and let the natural plants thrive. We also have bluebird houses & bee houses set up in conjunction with Sydenham sportsmans association and belong to a local garden club, that also gives back to the local community.
